Participating in The Summer Research Institute (SRI) Program

This year Blossome was represented at the Mind & Life Summer Research Institute which was held at the Garrison Institute in New York State, USA. The SRI is an annual gathering of researchers and contemplative practitioners where they have a dialogue about how contemplative practices such as mindfulness and compassion meditations can be used to enhance wellbeing and how these practices can be scientifically validated.

This year Dr Maya Campbell PhD was invited to present a poster on the work that Blossome does as well as the work of her other project that she is involved in, The Heartfulness Project,  for people with heart conditions. The poster was well received with lots of interest in both projects.

There were several other people there presenting work in the field of addiction and were very interested in the work that Blossome does in looking to support the whole family, not just the sufferer from addiction.

We will continue to explore how we can publish research based on Blossome programmes, showing the impact of self-care and self-compassion of improving wellbeing, and reducing the instances of generational cycles of addiction in families. This is our goal!
