Dance for Healing

Gentle movement for reconnection, release, and rediscovery

Are you carrying the emotional weight of a loved one’s addiction? You are not alone. Join us for a 90-minute dance session designed to offer emotional release, and a compassionate space for healing.

When life’s challenges leave you feeling stiff, disconnected, low, or weighed down by exhaustion, it can be hard to know where to begin healing. Sometimes talking isn’t enough as our bodies carry emotions that words can’t always reach. Dance for Healing invites you to move, breathe, and soften back into yourself through gentle, mindful movement.

This is not about performance or steps,  it’s about presence. It’s about reclaiming the joy and freedom of being in your body, even after pain, loss, or trauma. You don’t need to know how to dance or feel confident right now. All you need is the courage to take that first step- and we will be with you every step of the way.

Why Trauma-sensitive dance is especially Healing for Families Affected by Addiction

At Blossome, we know recovery is not just a mental process,  it’s physical, emotional, and relational. Our bodies remember what we’ve been through, and movement helps us release what’s been held for too long.

Dance reconnects us to our inner rhythm, awakens self-trust, and reminds us that we are alive, and healing is possible. Moving together, we strengthen not only our bodies but also our sense of belonging and courage.

What to Expect

  • A warm, welcoming space (no prior dance experience needed)
  • Gentle guided movement to music
  • Mindful pauses for grounding and reflection
  • Opportunities to connect and share (if you wish)
  • A supportive atmosphere where you can simply show up as you are

This session is for you if:

  • You’re affected by a loved one’s addiction and need a space to breathe
  • You feel you’ve lost your confidence and doubt yourself
  • You’re carrying tension, grief, or any emotions
  • You long to feel freer, lighter, or more confident
  • You want to reconnect with trust, in yourself and in others
  • You’re curious about new ways to support your recovery through movement
  • You love to dance and move

Give Yourself Permission to take care of you and Heal

You don’t have to carry it all alone. Join us as we honour your journey, hold space for your healing, and cultivate a sense of inner peace and resilience, one breath at a time. You can move as little or as much as feels right for you. Every movement, every breath, is part of the healing.

This activity is open to anyone wanting to experience the benefits of dance, in a safe, supportive community space.

Important Notice:

This is not a formal therapy group, but the hope is that it may have a therapeutic impact on your life.  Blossome is not a crisis intervention service. We signpost to other services. Information will be provided at the session to ensure all participants feel supported.

Fi Bool

Facilitator

Meet Fi Bool, the founder of The Dandelion Project,  a movement born from her own journey of recovery and rediscovery. Having personally experienced what it’s like to lose confidence, question self-worth, and struggle to trust again, Fi now helps others find their way back to themselves through dance and mindful movement.

Her work is rooted in empathy, connection, and the belief that even the smallest step toward healing can open the door to transformation. Through The Dandelion Project, Fi has supported many people in reclaiming their strength, confidence, and sense of belonging, one gentle movement at a time.

Q & A about the Dance session

Not at all. This is not a dance class, it’s an invitation to move in whatever way feels right for you. No steps, no choreography, no pressure.

The dance session takes place at the Tree Room, in Colchester City Centre. You can see the full location on the map below.

The session lasts for 90 minutes. There is time before the end of the session to connect with others and ask questions, so you get the most from this wonderful experience. Refreshments will be provided.

The session is suited to anyone who has been bereaved or affected by someone else’s alcoholism or addiction. It will enable you  to explore emotions that come up in a safe supportive environment. No dance experience is necessary.
