Mindful Gardening

Join us for an enchanting two-hour session of Mindful Gardening, where we immerse ourselves in the ambiance of the garden, learning valuable lessons in care, patience, and love that can be applied to our own self-care.

In this session, we will embark on a journey of self-discovery, uncovering the connections between tending to the needs of plants and cultivating our own well-being. Throughout the session, our facilitators will guide participants in the art of mindfulness, teaching techniques to bring awareness to the present moment. As we gently nurture and cultivate the garden, we will simultaneously nurture our own spirits, fostering a deeper sense of self-care and self-compassion.

Through planting, weeding and watering, participants will develop an appreciation for the intricate needs of plants and the interconnectedness of all living things. Amidst the vibrant colours, fragrant scents, and the soothing sounds of nature, we will embrace the opportunity to quiet our minds and nourish our souls. We will learn to let go of stress, worries, and distractions, as we focus on the present moment and the delicate needs of our green companions. By practicing mindful gardening, we will forge a deeper connection with ourselves, cultivating a sense of inner peace and harmony.

No prior gardening experience is required to participate in this event. Whether you are an avid gardener or a novice, Mindful Gardening offers a serene space for self-exploration and growth.

We ask for a small fee to help us cover costs for putting on these sessions.  Your ticket price also covers the cost of refreshments and gardening gloves, if you forget yours.   If you attend regularly, you will be able to have a share of what is harvested from the garden.

Important Notice:

This session is not therapy, but it may have a therapeutic value to participants.  Blossome is not a crisis intervention service. We signpost to other services. Information will be provided at the session to ensure all participants feel supported.

Q & A

Gardening is so good for the soul. As you focus on the plants, you’ll naturally be drawn to focus on the present moment. Gardening requires patience, consistency and love, just like self-care.

The mindful gardening session takes place in a beautiful private garden on Heath road, off Straight Road in Colchester, Essex.

The session lasts for 2 hours, 11.30 am – 1.30 pm. Sometimes we stay a little longer if we get carried away…..  But you can arrive and leave anytime. There is time before the end of the session to enjoy refreshments together with the group.

The session is suited to anyone who wants to practice self-care, and learn a little bit about gardening.  It will enable you  to learn self compassion and mindfulness, so you can enjoy the present moment, free from heartaches of the past or worries of the future.

After the gardening, you will have the opportunity to reflect on the experience and share with other participants as we sit in nature and enjoy refreshments together. ❤️
