An 8-Week Self-Compassion Journey for Widows. Reconnect with your heart, your needs, and your life — in your own time
This is your invitation to pause – and turn towards yourself with kindness. Whether your grief is fresh, familiar, or tucked away beneath everyday life, this 8-week self-compassion journey is here to support you. It offers a safe and supportive space to explore what it means to care for you – especially when you’re used to caring for others.
Whether your grief is recent or something you’ve carried for years, this programme invites you to slow down, reconnect with your own needs, and begin building a new relationship with yourself.
Grief isn’t something to fix.
Sometimes it’s loud. Sometimes it’s silent. Sometimes it’s not even visible to others – but still felt deeply. Self-compassion offers a steady inner refuge – whether you feel lost, stretched thin, or simply tired of being “strong.”
It’s the voice that says, “This is hard, and you’re doing the best you can.” Rather than rushing to “move on,” self-compassion helps you slow down, soften, and begin listening to your own heart again.
This programme is not therapy.
It’s about learning to hold yourself with kindness, as you navigate the waves of grief, without pressure, without judgement.
This programme offers you a space with other widows to learn how to turn inward with warmth, tenderness, supporting yourself with kindness.
This journey is for you if…
- You’ve been recently widowed and everything feels unfamiliar
- You’re several years in, but still feel disconnected or alone
- You’re functioning well, but your own needs keep falling to the bottom of the list
- You’re ready to stop surviving and begin gently reconnecting with your own life
- You’re craving a space just for you – without judgement, pressure, or pretending
Why this programme?
This programme is based on the Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) model, developed by Dr. Kristin Neff and Dr. Chris Germer — an evidence-based, internationally recognised course that teaches practical tools for emotional resilience, kindness, and self-support.
Led by Kim Moore, a trained MSC teacher and a widow herself, this small-group programme brings together widows who understand the silent weight grief can carry – and the strength it takes to keep going.
You don’t have to share. You don’t have to explain. This space is here to help you care for yourself with the same tenderness you so often offer to others.
All emotions are welcome. In this space, you’ll learn to use tools to resource yourself, which you can return to again and again. Through this programme, you’ll learn how to:
✅ Soothe emotional overwhelm
✅ Motivate yourself with kindness, not criticism
✅ Make space for your own needs – even when life feels full
✅ Feel less alone in your experience
✅ Build steadiness to meet life’s ongoing demands
✅ Gently rediscover who you are now — in your own time
