Wonderful Wednesday Self-care Accountability Meetup

A monthly online gathering to support you with setting your self-care intentions and holding yourself accountable to them.  This meetup offers self-care support and connection for anyone who has been bereaved or is experiencing living loss due to a loved one’s alcoholism or addiction. Each month we review our self-care practices and set our self-care intentions for the next month. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain support with developing your self-care practices.

Join us and gain support with your grieving and feelings you are experiencing as a result of your loved one’s alcohol or substance misuse.  The best way we can support our loved ones is by taking care of ourselves first, but that can be hard. Years of caring for others creates habitual patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving. In the Blossome Community, we learn to create new healthy patterns for our own wellbeing, which positively impacts others around us too.

There’s no need to pre-register, and there’s no such thing as being late. Join us at the meetup. Come as you are and gain emotional support. Learn self-compassion practices and how to prioritise your own self care.

We meet on Zoom:

  • Use your phone , computer or tablet
  • Your camera can be switched on or off
  • Listen in
  • Ask for support
  • Connect with others, you are not alone.
  • Learn a self-care tool to help you support yourself

FAQs

Self-compassion is simply the process of turning compassion inward.  We are kind and understanding rather than harshly self-critical when we fail, make mistakes or feel inadequate.  We give ourselves support and encouragement rather than being cold and judgmental when challenges and difficulty arise in our lives. Research indicates that self-compassion is one of the most powerful sources of coping and resilience we have available to us, radically improving our mental and physical wellbeing. It motivates us to make changes and reach our goals not because we’re inadequate, but because we care and want to be happy.  Source: Dr Kristin Neff

The Slef-care Support meetups are suited to anyone affected by someone else’s alcohol dependency or addiction. There is a focus on grief, as grief is complicated and can be experienced while our loved one is still alive.
