Our outcomes align closely with NHS priorities around prevention, community-based mental health support and reducing avoidable escalation, by strengthening coping, connection and stability for adults with trauma-related mental ill-health.
Blossome supports people who are often under-served by statutory services — individuals living with the long-term emotional impact of another person’s addiction, many of whom experience PTSD, anxiety, depression and social isolation.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help end the intergenerational cycle of substance misuse in families.
While addiction services rightly focus on the person using substances, the emotional and psychological impact on loved ones is often overlooked. We exist to support those affected, helping people heal from years of coping, enduring and living alongside addiction.
Each person who is supported to heal represents a point where that cycle can begin to end. Achieving this requires clear outcomes and a thoughtful, ethical approach to measuring impact.
Core Participant Outcomes
Through participation in Blossome programmes and community support, we aim to support:
- Reduced social isolation and increased social connection
- Improved emotional regulation and coping capacity
- Increased confidence and self-efficacy in managing mental health
- Increased engagement in sustainable self-management practices
- Reduced shame and self-criticism (increased self-compassion)
These outcomes reflect recovery-oriented, trauma-informed change that supports long-term mental health stability.
System Level Outcomes
Our work also contributes to wider system outcomes, including:
- Reduced avoidable escalation and reliance on NHS services
- Improved flow between statutory services and community-based support
- Contribution to improved community wellbeing and resilience
By providing safe, trauma-informed community support, we help reduce pressure on clinical services while improving people’s lived experience of care.
