Self-care Activities for adults affected by someone else’s  addiction.

When someone you care about is drinking, using drugs, gambling or living with another addiction, so much of your attention can become focused on them. Our self-care activities offer a gentle way to make some space for you.

Come along to stitch, dip, move, breathe, create or simply spend time with people who understand. You don’t have to talk about what is happening or share your story. Take part at your own pace, build supportive friendships and discover practical ways to care for yourself, regulate difficult emotions and help your nervous system find moments of calm.

More Than an Activity

Living with the impact of someone else’s addiction can be exhausting. You may spend a lot of time worrying, anticipating what might happen next or trying to keep everything together. Over time, it can become difficult to switch off, know what you need or make room for yourself.

At Blossome, self-care isn’t about ignoring the person you love, using tough love or pretending everything is OK. It is about making sure you have support too.

Our activities give you opportunities to slow down, move, create, connect, laugh, rest and experience something different. These moments can help resource you, giving your mind and body a chance to step out of high alert and helping you feel more grounded and able to cope with what life brings.

And you don’t do it alone. Every activity is part of the wider Blossome community, where you can keep coming back, get to know familiar faces and build friendships with people who understand.

Activities You Can Keep Coming Back To

Every month, we hold regular self-care activities that you can always count on to be there for you. No matter what the activity, it is our promise to ensure you feel supported and leave feeling better than when you arrived. This makes it easier to build a self-care habit, making it part of your lifestyle. Each activity offers something a different aspect of self-care to support your wellbeing.

By holding the activity in our community environment, it makes it easier you to be brave, to try something new with a group that you know and trust, a group that you feel ok being vulnerable with.  And we always offer what our community members want the most.

A Community That Understands

Many of our team and community have their own lived experience of being affected by someone else’s addiction. We understand that sometimes you want to talk and sometimes you simply want to be around people who get it. We create small, welcoming groups where you can feel accepted, supported and free to participate in the way that feels right for you.

Your first activity can simply be a beginning.

Come to one thing that appeals to you. There is no commitment to do anything else. But if Blossome feels like somewhere you can be yourself, you are welcome to keep coming back and become part of the community.
