Take Care of You

Watching a loved one die from alcoholism or addiction is the hardest thing you will ever witness

That’s why it’s important to commit to your own healing

After a loved one dies from alcoholism or addiction, it’s common to feel very complicated and significant grief. The tendency is to blame ourselves after a loved one passes away. But you mustn’t.

It’s important for you to take active steps for your own recovery. Piece your life back together in a healthy way, so you can feel a sense of purpose and joy in life once again.

Hello!

Hi, I’m Kim Moore

I lost my husband Chris to alcoholism in May 2017. My healing journey started with moments of self-care. Slowly, one thing at a time, I learned how to start taking care of me.

When you lose a loved one to any addiction, the impacts are devastating. We experience multiple traumas over a series of years and can feel helpless, watching our loved ones struggle before us.

When you love an addict, you tend to spend a disproportionate amount of time caring for and supporting your loved one. So much so, that you forget to take care of yourself.

Every day I work on myself. Every day I do something to further my healing. I know from experience that there are many ups and downs. Sometimes it’s just tough and incredibly difficult to keep on track. But you MUST, for you. I hope you find this guide encouraging and helpful.
