I’m Emilia Whitehead

I am Emilia Whitehead and I am excited to have been contracted by Blossome to offer my services as a volunteer coordinator with funding from the East of England Co-op Community Cares fund.

 For 6 hours a week over the next 12 months I will help make connections, create resources and nurture a supportive environment for new and existing volunteers to help the Blossome community continue to grow and flourish.

 As a recent university graduate I am keen to put my organisation and communication skills to meaningful use within the Blossome community.  I also have more than 10 years experience of volunteering in a wide range of settings which has helped me to acquire new interests, develop skills, build self-confidence, and experience the joy of helping other people to access life-affiming opportunities. Working for Blossome is helping me give something back by supporting and enhancing other people’s volunteering journey.

 University was a high pressure environment which I was only able to navigate by recognising the importance of self-care, whether it was taking time to craft with friends, creating music, reading for pleasure or enjoying a gentle walk in nature. I look forward to being part of such a special organisation that has self care and  self compassion at its core.
