When we share our stories with others, we create community, connection and compassion, contributing to individual and collective healing.
Hi, I’m Georgina and I’m a writing for wellbeing workshop facilitator, poet and performer with over 10 years’ experience of holding creative spaces within mental health, education and community settings. I hold an MSc in Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes and have experience with a wide range of topics, with a particular focus on group work, bereavement and using writing as a tool for self-care and remembrance.
My training and facilitation takes a person-centred, holistic and collaborative approach to empower those I work with to tap into their inner wisdom and insights through creative, expressive and reflective writing. I incorporate bibliotherapy, poetry and narrative practices along with mindfulness and grounding techniques to provide a safe environment for people to express themselves and feel heard.
Writing is for everyone and we all have unique and valuable stories to tell. When we share our stories with others, we create community, connection and compassion, contributing to individual and collective healing. One of my favourite aspects of facilitating writing workshops is that people create something that didn’t exist before they wrote it – and, affirmingly, only they could have written it.
